Hi folks.
I didn't have this problem on my old provider but ever since I moved over to Public Mobile, if someone sends me a photo or image, it'll show up in a separate SMS thread than the texts.
How do I fix this. I'm on an Android Google Pixel 6.
Thanks!

Just to restate my issue.
For some contacts, if the send me a TEXT SMS it comes in as 1 thread
If they send me an SMS with an image it'll go on another thread as a GROUP that includes the sender + myself. So if I respond on that thread, I get an echo of my text from ME!
I am using Google's Messages app.
I do have MMS enabled
sorry none of the following worked
1. deleted all SMS threads to contacts that have this issue
2. cleared cache and reboot
3. I tried turning off RCS but then I don't get any images.

hi @Ray_Gar1 Reset network won't help, it is an app problem. Tryclear cache first. If not, as said earlier, you need to uninstall Google Message first, reboot and reinstall

You might want to try resetting the Network setting and see if that helps.
If you have home wifi, you will need to re-enter the wifi password again on your phone.

I have that set and rebooted. Still the same.
Wondering if clearing the cache works, will try to test that out with someone that I have a duplicate SMS thread with to try.

It doesn't happen with all, only some people.

hi @Ray_Gar1 backup all the important texts first
then uninstall Google Message, reboot phone and reinstall the app

@Ray_Gar1 Ensure you have MMS enabled and reset network settings and reboot the phone see if that helps
