Switching plans

I plan on visiting the USA for a month early winter and again for a month late winter. What is involved in switching plans back and forth say the 40 dollar to the 60 dollar while in the states.... bringing my own phone

You can switch in the self serve accounnt. Though don't see why you would want to switch back to the $40 plan. Over time with all the rewards PM offers it's possible to get the plan under $40. The more you use the community fourms you could get up to $20 off your monthly payment. Take advantage of all their other rewards and there will be no need to switch plans.

Another option is getting textnow sim, they charge 10 for unlimited calls and texts, 20  for call text and 2g of data, 30 foot 5gigs instead and 40 for unlimited ( that's in usd) and you can pick Canadian number so you can forward all your calls to It. Unfortunately they won't let you get it here in Canada, you will have to order it there you will need access to a credit card with usa address.

And i heard freedompop has even better deals as long as you read fine print, 200/500 megs, 200 mins and 500  texts totally free, so great for occasional user but they charge if you go over. Also i don't think they offer Canadian numbers

@Kimbo2 It's pretty easy to switch between plans, as the others already mentioned just go to your My Account and change your plan.  However, just keep in mind if you're going to switch plans then set it up for the same date as your usual payment cycle.  If you switch plans mid way through your existing cycle, then the money you would have already pre-paid in advance will be wasted.  Every time you switch plans you'll need to pre-pay for the new plan you're going to switch to.

To be honest, I doubt the current $60 promo plan will be available for that long, it'll probably be gone in the next month or so.  So if you're going away for a month or 2 in the winter time then you may want to just get a SIM from the US, might be cheaper because the roaming packages through PM only last for 10 days and you only get 250MB on the bundle option.  Guess you'll have to do a bit of research and do some math to see what makes more sense.

Just log in and go to change plan and click on the 60$ assuming it's still around then and click change at next renewal so you'd have to do it before you go and then same thing to lower it back to the 40$ plan.

Hi

You can do it from your self serve as long as they are still available when you need them. 60 plan is advertised for summer sale so it may not be available later. But users have been known to bring back plans that were being discontinued so you may be lucky
