I’m traveling to Singapore and currently don’t have roaming on my Public Mobile plan, so I decided to switch to Koodo while keeping my number. However, I’m unable to receive SMS to complete the verification step for the switch. I’m looking for a solution.

I remember that when I transferred my number before, I had to reply to an automatic text message to confirm the transfer.
Since PM doesn't support roaming where I am currently located, I hove no service and Cann't receive text messages. Does the mean I won't be able to complete the number transfer?
Hi @ChloeY Not true.
No worries, you are good, you can still transfer as I explained in my post above

Or I will activate my Koodo service first and the start the number transfer process, would I be able to receive the confirmation text and reply "Yes" to authorize the porting? I'm not sure about the order of e activation and number transfer process, so I'm worried that I may not be able to complete the porting successfully.
PS: I'm using eSIM for all

hi @ChloeY
you are lucky that you are moving to Koodo. Since both Koodo and PM are owned by Telus, Koodo can help to move the line over without you reply a text on your PM sim card.
if you already subscribed with Koodo and requested porting, Koodo porting support team can help. I have sent you the porting support team number. Please check your Community inbox (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage), check for the number and call.

Since you are already out of the country and you can't receive sms, you will most likely have to wait until you get back to Canada to complete be switch.
I don't think Public Mobile will approve the switch manually, but contact support and verify.

Hello @ChloeY
You will need to keep your PM SiM card in the phone so you can get the code. If it's an eSIM and you've already deleted, contact customer service.
Check your inbox.
