My current subscription plan was purchased last Boxing Day and was valid for 15 months.
If I purchase a Boxing Day plan today, will it start once my current subscription ends or will it take effect immediately?

True; that's why I've selected the option to 'Change at next renewal'.

You don't lose Legacy Rewards permanently.
You just lose the ones for the immediate plan change cycle.
If you switch to Public Points, then you'll lose the legacy rewards.

At least 2 weeks ago the PM Website also said that if you signed up for Plan change immediately, you lose the accumulated Reward Status - if that meant that the Reward Status is reduced to None, we would have then lost the 5 years Loyalty as well as Refer-a-friend bonuses; not sure if we would've also lost the 'free' Add-Ons that were given over previously.

I went in and signed up for a new plan .. the plan that I had originally signed up isn't there anymore, so I opted for the next best. (The original new plans for 180 GB for 90 days @ $120; now 60GB for 1 month @ $40.; I would have preferred 180GB spread over 90 days.)

On 2023-Dec-13, I had changed my plan to 180GB / $120 for 90 days starting from next billing cycle; and when I logged in, I used to se a msg saying that "Your subscription would change to $120 for 90 days" - no more details.
However, now when I login, I don't the "Upcoming Subscription Plan Change".

I'd consider this carefully.
The Boxing Day specials, especially the ones for new activations, are pretty good and may only stick around for another week or so, if that.
I would recommend scheduling a change on your next renewal, unless your next renewal is only a day or two away. If it is, let the renewal occur and then schedule a plan change for your NEXT renewal in January and that way you'll have all but maximized your 15-month offer and still being able to capitalize on the current offerings.

@Jack53 Yes that's the dilemma, you need to figure out which is worth more to you given that the plan you want might not be available by then. In other words losing the bonus in the promotion might be worth it to get the plan you want now and save in the long run. If you select change on renewal now it will not kick in until the end of the current 30 day period.

That's exactly the type of plan I'm currently on. So I guess I'll have to wait until the 15 months is over first and hope there are deals at that time.

@Jack53 You'll be given the option to change now or change on renewal so make sure to change on renewal. But you'd want to do that the last month before your promotion ends otherwise you will cut it short assuming you are on a 30 day plan with a bonus that lasts 15 months.

The decision is up to you, whether to make the change on an immediate basis, or on your next renewal.
It is always recommended to make it on the next renewal, as there are no prorations or refunds for partial cycles used.
Some of the Boxing Day specials are for new activations only; you’ll be provided with plan options on your self serve screen under your Subscription tabs.
