########## Spam getting past Google Pro 8 Filter

This number when blocked no longer rings the phone but still manages to get to voice mail.  Seems to be the only blocked number capable of this has anyone else had similar isssues?

Blocked calls got to voicemail is an absolute normal behavior on the network level.  If Google has app to do better, it is an app issue. Since the app fails to deliver what it promised, you should open a ticket with Google as there could be bugs with it or they have to coordinate with the networks to make it work

It's not an app issue.  Google spam filter only prevents calls from ringing. It never prevents anyone from leaving a voicemail. Their spam filtering service is working as deisgned.

@Andrew_F I appreciate your understanding and the thumb up

I am looking in to the app issues with Google.  My post here was to see if a specific phone nyumber was able to bypass these apps as only one number seems capable of it.  Don't know if some one has found a new way of spoofing phone numbers that gets around third party apps and since you are blocking the publishing this particular number this forum won't be able to help.  Still not appreciating my post being edited without explanation, you are not helping and unfortunely there is no thumbs down available.

@Andrew_F Oracles monitor the forum and  edit posts when needed. We don't usually post the explanation

But since you asked, andl and I will make an exception. l  removed the phone number on the subject line for privacy concern and this is our usual practice.     You post content itself was not altered  at all and hence there is no need to not appreciated at all

Google Phone is still a third party app from the perspective that it can answer and hang up on a number without letting it go to voice mail as it does with nearly all spam calls.  I appreciate the thought though.  I was curious as to why this one specific phone number manged to bypass that but some one else blanked that number out of my original post making this effort a waste of time now but thaks anyways.

Not expected behaviour as Google manages to answer and hang up before voice mail on previous numbers.  Also you edited my post without explantion chaning the incoming phone number.  This may be a policy that I missed but rather than make an edit and "not point out the reason" you should have pointed out why it was beinng edited.  Not appreciated in the manner you handled it.

To prevent specific callers from leaving voice messages, you would need to install a third party app. Some third party apps can be set to answer the call and then hang up on the caller.  This will prevent the caller from leaving a vocie message.  However, you may still hear your phone ring briefly.  For such a third party app to work properly, all call management software already on the phone would need to be first disabled.

this is expected behavior.  The block is on device level and not the network level.  Blocked calls would be forwarded to voicemail still
