I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 17 today and transferred my Public Mobile service. Since the transfer, every online game is either extremely laggy or won't load into matches when using cellular data. Games work perfectly on Wi-Fi, and everything else on cellular (Safari, YouTube, social media, Speedtest, etc.) works normally.
The exact same Public Mobile plan worked perfectly on my iPhone 8 just before the transfer. I've tested multiple games, and they all have the same issue. I get around 248 Mbps download with a 32 ms ping on Speedtest, and a packet loss test shows 0% packet loss and 0% late packets. I've tried both LTE and 5G, reset my network settings, restarted the phone several times, confirmed I'm on the latest carrier settings (Public Mobile 70.0) and iOS 26.5.1, and I don't have a VPN connected. My APN shows ips.mb.co, but it's locked and can't be changed, so I think that may be the issue, but I'm not sure. Has anyone faced the same or a similar problem, and how did you end up fixing it?

the APN on iPhone is not for data usage, it was only for Mobile Hotspot. The APN settings for data is all controlled by the Carrier Profile, which you already have the latestest one.
Game lag is usually caused by higher latency (ping) rather than raw speed. PM and Telus has been know for deprioritizing data package for gaming. One way to avoid this is to use VPN which have ways to hide the gaming data
of course, you can ask PM CS agent to check and reprovision your account. Please open ticket with PM support:
