Took a few. Thing is a dust magnet, sorry about all the fluff. This is the phone, in midnight black, wearing the smoked (mostly clear) TPU case that comes in the box. The case seems quite protective, and even features corners that are raised up (on the screen side) to give additional screen protection when placed (or dropped!) face down.

Some more night time shots from various areas (Surrey, North Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver). A few were resized to 75% to reduce file size but none were modified outside of that.

@canucks4life I just noticed your timeline doesn't add up. How did you have an OP5 a year ago when they came out in June 2017? Are you a time traveller??

Nice photos. 🙂

Thanks, @ckl!
Here's just a few more:
Yaletown at night:
And a couple of relatively successful portrait mode shots:

Great pics!

Some (slightly more interesting) photos taken in downtown Vancouver today. Cloudy, dreary day unfortunately.

Here's some more low light photos taken on a short walk a few mins ago
The file size on the last one was too large to upload, so I resized it by half in both dimensions and resaved. The rest have not been touched.

@Michael77 my pleasure!

Hopefully Koodo doesn't keep you waiting too long. I'm in the same boat, put in a Koodo order this morning for an S8 (for a friend 🙂 ).
The scuttlebutt is the Google camera app will make a big difference on the PH-1. I certainly hope so. Bootloader unlock is easy enough.

@srlawren, thought maybe you strapped the phone on a dog and the pictures were what he was looking at for a potential bathroom

@srlawren, the order was put in last night. It's still pending approval to ship. No idea what that means. It's all @ShawnC13's fault that I ordered one. He asked too many questions and I have little willpower to resist a deal. Those complaining about this service should compare it to Koodo before making too much noise. The Koodo site was completely crippled all day yesterday. Now I have a order that's taking too long to process to the next step.

And a few gloomy "bokeh" (Portrait mode) shots. I change the phone to store both regular and bokeh files for each portrait shots, so you'll see first the regular then the bokeh below:

No night shots yet, but I grabbed a few gloomy (overcast and drizzling) daytime shots. All are resized to half in height and width, to keep file sizes in check:

Not your FujiFilm disposable camera, is it? Nice snaps, the camera seems to be of a very good quality.
11-24-2017 02:42 AM
@computergeek541 I will definitely try that out over the next few days. I took a couple quick snaps in my appartment tonight with very little lighting. My place is too messy to share tho lol. They were a bit noisy but not bad for the lighting conditions. I'll try to take some this weekend, including some inside and outside. Stay tuned. 🙂

The raised corners of the included case reminds me of the Ballistic Jewel cases. Hopefully, it protects just as well. Those are some nice pics you managed to take with your new phone. How does the camera fare in low-light situations? I only ask because many phones take fantistic daytime pictures but suffer greatly when it turns to night.

Finally, a panorama shot. This one had to be more drastically resized, as it started out at about 14MB. 🙂

Next, a few "bokeh" (portrait mode) shots:

Here's some sample photos taken with the 5T on a short walk this afternoon. None were retouched, but I resized them all to half their height and width and resaved, to get under the max file size for uploading to the community.
First, a few "nature" shots:

@ckl yep 🙂 and great question!

Great pics! So I'm guessing this is your new phone? I'm jealous.
Also, I'm curious as to why phones of this calibur still need screen protectors since it has gorilla glass?

@srlawren wrote:Thanks @ShawnC13! If you happen to be on the mainland and want to check it out, shoot me a PM.
I forgot to mention that the screen protector you can see there is the preinstalled plasticy one. I'll take it off shortly, as it diminishes the feel of the device. I took it off my OP3 as well within a week or so of receiving it, and it only has minor hairline scratches you have to look for. With the upgrade to Gorilla Glass 5 on the 5T, I expect it should hold up as well or better.
Agree about the screen protector...took mine off OP5 right away no issues after a year now.
Good of them to include a TPU case for basic protection.
