I'm having problems ou5ting my public mobile sim card in a Samsung j1.6 phone. When I insert and turn on phone it asks for sim unlock pin. Which looks to be only a 4 digit pin. I've contacted moderator team and so far have not had any luck getting an answer. The phone owner before was with Freedom. I've contacted freedom as well and they said to contact public mobile for the pin. I'm wondering if bringing the phone into freedom is the easiest way to go about getting this annoying simple problem fixed! ANY SUGGESTIONS FELLOW USERS...??!!

@Crazyvasey you can also contact Samsung online and ask them to unlock it for you. You will need your imei number dial *#06# to get it. Welcome to PM. Stay safe.

SIM Network Unlock PIN is not a 4 digit code. This would mean that your phone is locked to another carrier. You will need to unlock it before using it at Public Mobile. I would contact Samsung Canada by going to samsung.ca to ask them to provide the network unlock code for you. Moderator_Team cannot help customers unlock phones that are locked to other carriers. As for the advice that Freedom Mobile gave you, they were likley confused by the use of the term "PIN".
Public Mobile sim cards do have a default secuirty PIN of 1234, but there's no reason for a phone to ask you for that unless you've manually enabled the SIM card's PIN secuirty feature.
