Sim card from last year?

Is it true that to reactivate a subscription I need a new sim card? A perfectly good one is sitting right here.

If you have a newer phone, you can also install with eSIM instead of physical SIM card.  Cheaper also at $5 versus $10 (physical SIM card)

@jpbonadonna1977 A sim card used with an account last year that went dormant/suspended for 90 days or more? Not only is the sim card no longer useful, your account and the associated phone number are gone. You will need to sign up again.

Lesson learned then, I'll pause rather than cancel next time. (Seasonal live streaming...)

If your Subscription is Suspended then you don’t need a new SIM.

If your Subscription is closed then you need a new SIM to reactive a new account.

You can dial 611 or call 1-855-4PUBLIC and enter your number for the status of your account. If system can’t locate your number then your account is closed.

Once used SIM card cannot be reused.

Meaning if you had service then canceled it that SIM is useless piece of plastic and can be discarded.
