I bought a sim card, created an account, activated the sim card. Inserted it into my IPhone 6 and I'm getting the message that the Sim is not supported. Restarted the phone several times. Made sure the software was up to date. Talked to Apple Support and they said that according to their records it should work. Please help. Frustrated.

Use these steps back up your iPhone. After you make a backup, erase your iPhone. Restore your iPhone from the backup you just made.

@CaleHorvath Try your SIM another unlocked phone. If it works look at the suggestions here: https://www.imobie.com/support/bypass-iphone-sim-not-supported-issue.htm.
If that fails and you are sure you did create an account (Are you able to login to your self serve account and confirm you have an active plan? Check your credit card to see if a payment has gone through?), then it's best to contact the moderators.
Click this: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 to send a private message to the moderator team with a description of your issue. Sometimes they answer within in 24 hours, but usually take several days.
Do not send multiple messages. This increases the queue and adds to the time moderators take to locate all your messages.
Meanwhile, if you need to make phone calls try an application like that from fongo.com. It provides free calling across Canada from wherever you are connected to wifi (or on cellular data). Even though I have never needed it in 4 years, it's my backup service for these situations.

The phone is probably carrier-locked.
The best way to prove/disprove the vendor's claims is to put a working SIM card from another carrier into the device, restart, and see what happens. Rasy enough if you can borrow such a SIM card from a friend or family for 5 minutes.

Did you take the time to check your phone's compatibility with Public Mobile here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/qc/get-started ? According to this page, the iPhone 6 should be compatible with their network so you might want to check with your 15 digit IMEI if your phone is lost or stolen (if you bought it used from someone, maybe?).

Maybe this will help?

@CaleHorvathYour iPhone has not been unlocked by the original provider it was with. You need to contact them and get it unlocked (it is over the air, so you need to be connected to a wifi network).
