My S7 developed black line about 2.5cm at the bottom of the screen. Nothing is visible in that part even though screen is responsive to touch and whatever icon or keys from keyboard are under the black line are responding to a touch.
If I heath it up (hair dryer or heath gun) black line is gone and full screen is visible again.
Any idea how to fix it beside replacing screen which I am not willing to do.

It sounds like a screen issue. The problem with Samsung is battery & screen replacement are expensive because you have to remove the front and back of the screen.

@Yummyif it is a hardware issue, I don't think there is anything you can do other than screen replacement. I think is is around $150 to $200 if you bring it to a local repair shop
of course you can try reset the phone first, but I doubt that would fix you issue
