I was looking at purchasing the below phone (Samsung Galaxy A20s). Will it work with Public Mobile?

doe it still work with 3G speed data? how would be the speed? I am ok with 3Mbs
@John_Hey Public uses 3G primarily for talk and LTE lite (LTE network throttled to 3 Mbps) for data and texts even though you can use 3G for data and texting. In order to future proof your phone it's best to select one that supports LTE band 4. All new phones made for the North American market support band 4. So the rule of thumb is if it supports b4 for LTE it will work well for most providers including PM.

Thanks. I don't really understand "lte". For lte, what numbers should I be looking for in a phone?
LTE is a faster internet network. Since Public Mobile plans are all 3G data plans and not LTE the phone would be fine, Although if you ever switch providers or want to be on a faster celluar network the phone won't be much good.

The HSPA/3g network is more than capable of providing much more than 3Mbps of speed dependent on network conditions. LTE is not required for anything at Public Mobile, although it would be beneficial to have a phone compatibilbe with the the LTE network.

If you set it to connect to HSDPA then the speeds should be fine. There might be some lag with videos and such. Or might not. 🙂
Which exact submodel do you have just to make sure?

@Megan37 As already mentioned, it should work fine. If you're concerned and if it is convenient you can ask someone at the kiosk/store to put in a test SIM just to make sure. It'll help you to avoid any unknown reasons for it to not work. Plus you wouldn't want to pay and activiate your account to discover any potentially issues
