I have had my SIM card for about 5 years. I travel back and forth to Europe and change it when I come home. It usually works fine. This time it seems to recognize the sim and then after a while says it is not in the phone. I’m wondering if it is damaged. I have turned my phone off and on and reinserted it and it works for a bit and then does the same thing.

Why not just switch to an e-sim? If you do switch you will have freed up the physical sim slot to use with any other carrier anywhere in the world.

Just go into your phone's Settings and search for network reset.

@Sooz10 Can you test it in another phone ? SIM card don’t usually fail but if you taken it in and out of the device many times it’s possible it got damage , you could also try and lightly wipe clean the contacts on the SIM card and put back into phone also . But if you like to try new SIM card order one from Amazon $4.99 there right now . And once you have it in hand log into your account profile page and sim swap the number like this
SIM SWAPPING profile tabs
This can be done the app also

Try doing a network reset and then restart your phone. Having had a European SIM card in your phone may have messed up the network settings for the PM SIM.

It could be damaged. They are pretty strong and last long. Have you tried it in another phone?
A new on is $10+. You could purchase it through your account and have it mailed to you. Or purchase from Amazon for quicker shipping if you have prime for $4.99+.
Or see if there is a local Telus/Koodo/mobile Klink store need you that sells them.
