Can I use my SIM card from my phone or do I have to purchase the public mobile SIM?

If your current SIM is a PM SIM with an active account. Yes, you can use the PM SIM on any unlocked phones. Just pop it out and put it in another phone.

@CO69 - You will need to buy a Public Mobile SIM card since every carrier has a different SIM card needed for their company.
https://publicmobile.ca/en/ab/pick-up-SIM
You can also find them on Amazon for $5 / $10 or $10 at Public Mobile's website along with their places where to buy a SIM card.
EDIT: I will recommend this: Maybe try eSIM if you don't like switching between devices via SIM and are sure that your device is eSIM ready.
Also you will need to download the Public Mobile app to activate your service and if you are porting your number from another provider I recommend you use Account Number instead of IMEI.
EDIT: If it was a previous cancelled account SIM card with Public Mobile you will need another SIM card since they are one time use paperweights.
