help i'm  new on public mobile  ..my new  SIM card  activation failed..I put my SIm in the phone before activation..the at the step of activation is said  '' this number is already used   ''   I mean the code bar

it sounds to me OP was using the browser to activate and used app to try to scan the bar code showed after payment step about downloading PM app to continue activation

from what I understand, if you use the app to activate, if physical sim, no QR or bar code to scan.  If you eSIM, the app will try to install the esim for you and won't ask you to scan bar code or QR.  So, the only scan code step would be when ou activate via browser, after payment step, the process will ask you to download the PM app and provided you a QR code to scan and download quicker

@Sansan , ok you confused me! Op is talking about scanning the bar code of the SIM Card which may be the reason it failed! We can’t scan the bar code of the SIM Card. We need to type out the 19-digit code of the new SIM Card # into the field in the app! I’m trying not to confuse @djen 😉

What I'm referring to is the QR code that is sent out. You can use your phone to scan the code, instead of typing it. That's what I did.

@hTideGnow , are you sure we can’t scan the bar code of the SIM Card? @Sansan said we can! Maybe it changed?

But yes we can scan the bar code. Easier

@Sansan , you’re thinking of an eSIM & not a SIM Card! 😉 @djen states it is a SIM Card which is a physical SIM Card that we put into our phones. We type the 19-digit code of the new SIM Card # in the section of the app when you get to that during sign up! It won’t be in the email.

However @djen stated scanning the bar code which I didn’t know we could do!

I used the App  it  opened  the camera to scan  the  new card  code bar .. when to continue ,it  pups up the red  failed line

Please also ensure you scan the QR code. Should be in welcome email. You need to open the email from a desktop computer and scan the code with the phone. Activate using the App.

Make sure that you also check if the Sim was enabled in the Sim Manager in the phone settings.
