I had a pleasant surprise when I checked my Rewards and noticed a $2 credit (This is in addition to my Autopay $2). Upon further reading up on the awards process; I read that I should have received a text msg notification.....which I didn't.
So, any thoughts on this one?
Thanks in advance.

Excellent and interesting information. Many thanks.

@barndoor : Add-ons are optional. He might want to examine how many minutes he actually uses or come to the point of running out and _then_ buy the calling add-on.

Doesn't he need to add 6$ so he can get the add ons ? Just thought that was part of the strategy .😁

@Koombassi : For the not particularly high usage customers, those calling and data add-ons are excellent. It is only here and Koodo that have add-ons that stay on your account until used without re-buying. All the others expire at renewal or auto-re-buy.
I have the old $10 plan that only has 50 minutes and 50 outgoing texts. I have a couple thousand minutes available. I have another account on the $10 plan and use a dual-SIM phone. When I run out of texts on the one, I use the other. After that I could use a voip app like TextNow or use MMS.
Did I say I was a low usage customer? 🙂

Done. Back at you later with a more appreciative response.

I just figured out how to do screenshots myself!

I wasn't sure if we had discussed plans and I realize now In was thinking of someone else, But what prompted the question was your data counter. 240/1024mb I was going to comment on how you had nicely stayed under 250mb and was wondering if you had considered the $15 plan?
So many of us had been trained by our former providers that more was better.....if you ran out of data and had to buy an add on or even worse per mb overages the charges were outrageous so we buy more than we need. Just in case.
The same holds true at PM but not anywhere close to the same price differences. Plan data is always cheaper than add on data however you are paying the highest price for plan data. Basically $10/1gb with the $25 plan. If you used your data as you typically do you are leaving $7.50 worth of data on the table.
You also have unlimited outgoing minutes. Now if you happen to use your phone for work or you just like to talk a lot then that may be important to you but really how much do you really use? When you initiate the call? How many calls are to government numbers or toll free numbers? Or voicemail? You may find that actual calls that would count towards outgoing minutes are not really that many. With the option of having the fongo app to check voicemail or sit on hold to a local number or call that friend who screens their calls so it goes to voicemail you may find 100 outgoing plan minutes is more than sufficient.
So now look at the $15 plan and see what you can save....add the $5/500 min add on. That just makes sense. No one wants to get cut off in the middle of an important call. Your data you can just track on your phone by using your data warning and limiter and if necessary purchase the $15/1gb add on. Now if you need the minutes or data it's there just like before but instead of wasting them each month they are rolling over each month.
It's taken me 20 months to use up one $5/500 min add on and the bf used about 300 of those minutes when he has borrowed my phone several times after losing his phone more than once. By making a few adjustments in my calling habits like telling my sisters to call me because they have unlimited plans, using fongo to check voicemail and being smart with how I use my data I have used less than 500mb of add on data in the past 18 months and again the bf can easily lay claim to half of that usage if not most of it.
Consider scheduling a change plan on next renewal.( As in today!) Buy the $5/500 min add on. See how it goes. You can always switch back if needed. You can't get back the $7.50 in wastage each month. That's $90 after 360 days. A couple of each of the add ons each year will still leave you with $50 in your pocket.

@Koombassi : When one checks the box for autopay at activation, the system will deposit $2 into your account up front after activation. The credit. It then toggles it in the Rewards area. The rewards area is not credit. It's potential. You would not have seen that community reward show up until the 6th. It doesn't get converted until your next renewal (11th).
I generally try to be clear on the terms used. Credit or reward.

@Anonymous
Your calculations match mine.
Added additional funds cause I didn't want to chance a system error and my cc payment not work. So, safety measure.
All this still doesn't answer the question why I got a text msg that showed my Autopay credit but not my Community credit (see previous post). That' text msg is what started this whole thread.
Anyways @Anonymous @thanks for your time and effort on this.
08-10-2021 01:19 AM
@Koombassi : Ok. So. You activated on the 12th. You deposited $23 on the 23rd (for some reason). You renew on the 11th. The $2 + $2 will convert into Available Funds adding to your $25 already there. The Community will zero out to await ~Sep 6th for the next possible reward. The autopay will reset and appear again. You will arrive at noon ET of the 11th with $4 in Available Funds.

No, I didn't. What prompts your question?
08-10-2021 12:46 AM
@Koombassi : See that button to the right of Available Funds? See the link below it? Go in there to find your Payment history. If you wish. I'd sure like to see it before the 11th to participate in sorting out your question. From the start.
08-09-2021 10:43 PM
Did you schedule a plan change on next renewal to the $15 plan?

@Koombassi : So how's that Payment history screenshot coming? And maybe the whole overview page including the top part with Available Funds.
And indeed...blank out personal info.

@Anonymous
Your request prompted me to figure it out! I can now edit screenshots.
Great!

@Koombassi : Device? (desktop/laptop, tablet, phone) OS?

@Koombassi wrote:How do I edit or blank out data on screenshot? Haven't learned that in PM as yet.
That's not something the PM forum site can do... You'd have to use photo editing software on either your phone or PC before uploading it.

How do I edit or blank out data on screenshot? Haven't learned that in PM as yet.
08-08-2021 11:18 PM
@Koombassi : Please post screenshots of your Payment history here (not payment card) and your overview page. Blank out personal info of course.
08-08-2021 10:54 PM
Yup! That's what happened. Credit should up two days ago and still shows on my Overview page along with my Autopay credit. New cycle begins Aug11. Account balance $25.
Mysterious!

Congrats! Rewards have been applied to your account: $0 friend referrals, $2 AutoPay, $0 Community, $0 Loyalty. More info at https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca
Did your renewal take place this morning? If it did, I suspect that you didn't you might not have received a Community reward. I say this based on the fact that you had a $2 credit. As @Anonymous was saying, this could be interpreted this as you have $2 extra in your account balance (although I didn't originally interpret it in that way) at the time that you started this thread. If that's what you mean, that isn't for a Community reward. Credits for rewards only get added to yoru account balance shortly before your plan is about to be renewed.

The second text is normal if your renewal is the 11th of August.
You're correct that the text message about rewards is suppsoed to come after the renewal is completed, but I'm not certain if the the text message about the rewards is in error or if the renewal/payment reminder is in error. Another recent bug is how the text message about rewards being applied no longer comes at 12pm eastern after a completed renewal, but rather now comes 12 hours later at midnight.

The 2nd one was a notify of my Payment Due. The 2nd one is normal, I suspect?
Public Mobile here. Just a heads up, your payment is due on Aug 11. Please visit https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca to make a payment. If you're on AutoPay or have already paid, please ignore this message.
Ant thoughts @computergeek541 ?
Thanks again.

Congrats!
the text message usually comes at 12pm when the plan has been renewed for the next month.
example it’s been paid on autopay.
also I don’t get the text anymore with friend referrals either

If you have e-mail notification enabled on your community account, and the extra $2 you refer to is the "Community Reward" - you may eventually (next week) get an email about earning the badge. The reward technically shows up a few days to a week earlier in self-serve.
08-08-2021 01:19 AM
Congrats on your first community reward! Community rewards are added to accounts usually around 8pm pst on or about the 6th of the month. You will not recieve a text but you may be getting it confused with the Cha-ching text received for referrals. Which are arriving about 36 hours after activation currently. You will get a text at about 9am pst after renewal listing the rewards added successfully to your account during renewal.

Maybe you mean: when one first activates and checks the box for autopay, $2 is deposited into the Available Funds. If you don't otherwise use it for add-ons or plan change, then at your first renewal you will use that $2 plus the $2 autopay reward totaling $4 off the plan cost. Then the next renewal will be just the $2.
