Restore phone number

About 7-6 weeks ago I changed my phone number because I moved to another city. I'm in the situation that I need to get my old phone number back because its connected with my google account. I changed my phone number using My Account Public Mobile and I really hope you can help me. Thank you and have a good day.

Why don't you just log into your account and remove that old number?

Log into google and click on security, find the recovery phone options and delete the device.

Ok, @darlicious , however surely Google has options if the customer is unable to re-acquire their old number.

So why not change the recovery number through Google?

Add or change a recovery phone number

1. Sign in to your "Recovery phone" page in My Account.
2. From here you can:
   • Add a recovery phone.
   • Change your recovery phone: Next to your phone number, select Edit.
3. In the box that appears, follow the instructions.

Note: You must use a mobile phone with text messaging turned on.

I suspect that the phone number is the recovery number.

Can't you just update your new number with your Google services?

@thatvenus1  was the number originally with Public or with another provider?  if with public you can try contacting the mods and via SIMon the chatbot lower rigth of screen and see if they can getthe number back.  

if with another provider you need to contact that provider.

@thatvenus1  Unfortunately this is not possible. Once you change your number the old number is gone back into the pool to the provider that it originally came from and is re-used if someone selects it. 

Majority of the numbers on PM come from other providers. They would have it now. Have you tried calling the number to see if it is available?

Is the number originally a Telus number? There's no guarantee that you can get that phone number back. The moment the number was changed, all rights to the old phone number were forfeited. Your only hope will be ask the moderators if it's possible to get the number back.  I doubt that it would already been reassigned after only 6 weeks, but as I said, there are no guarantees.  Open a ticket by going to: https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.
