I need to reset my self serve password but I am locked out due to failed attempts.

Yes, you will get locked out using the wrong password too many attempts.
Wait an hour and login then click on Forgot Password and answer your security question.
If all fails, contact a CS_Agent via private message or create a ticket via SIMon Chatbot on this Community page.
