@SueBury - No, you won't lose your existing refer-a-friend referrals unless they leave Public Mobile.

It will now be 1 point per referral (Including existing) instead of $1 per referral.

Why do you say you will keep your friend referral?
The info on the new points system says you will lose all your old rewards. And unless you refer a friend after joining the new points system, I assumed youd lose that referral bonus too.

Not only that, but you have to take action to redeem the rewards.

I have twins with complex medical needs, I do not have time to add another step to get some money back. The loss of automatic reward program is enough to make me walk. And they keep advertising the change as better “because choice” and it’s patronizing.

@Marhoho

you will be paying full plan amount after the change

For rewards, you will get you friend referral in point , 1 point every cycle

you will also earn 5% of your plan amount in point, and 10 point every anniversary

whenever you accumulated 15 points, you can then redeem for $15 bill credit

@Marhoho - No more

  • $2 autopay bonus
  • Loyalty bonus's $1 increases per year that you stay with PM and gets discounted monthly.

Now loyalty will get replaced with an annual non increasing 10 points.

Also refer-a-friend will stay as 1 point per person referred.

Now there will be added:

  • 5% each $1 spent on your phone plan. Here in Alberta it is basically our tax return but with points when paying our phone bill 🤣

So yeah... better file a CCTS Complaint to see if enough CCTS complaints make PM veto the decision.

@Marhoho  You will lose the $2 auto pay. You  will lose the $5 loyalty . But you will keep your friend  referral

instead you will get 5% back in points for plan spend and 10 points once a year . And 1 point for each friend referral

once you have earned 15 points you can redeem $15 off your bill from the rewards portal . This change will basically cost you an extra $50 more year going forward . Thumbs down 👎
