I manage my senior dad's cell phone for him. His credit card expired and the payment lapsed. He didn't see the text messages prompting him to update. I've gone through a new activation and when I tried inputting his cell number to bring it, it says that the number is not valid. How do I get his old cell number back? I have both his old IMEI number as well as the new IMEI number that I used during the reactivation. I'm not sure where to go from here.

you shouldn't start a new activation.
