@cdavlut

Good suggestions presented already so far. One last option if you *really* need a special number, is to purchase a number through a service that specializes in vanity numbers, like numberbarn.com, then you can port it into public mobile afterwards.

@cdavlut

The old activation portal used to give you an option to customize the last 4 digits of a phone (if available). This was the only time this option was available....alas....its gone now too.

When you go to the change number function in your self serve account you will be given a drop down menu of of calling areas. Some of them will be considered local calling areas in the traditional landline sense while others will still have the preferred area code you may want but could be long distance for local people calling you. If you have Canada wide calling plan what area code you choose will make no real difference unless you choose a province like Alberta over Nova Scotia then you will pay a lower tax rate when you pay by credit card. (5% vs 15%)

Once you choose an area you will be presented with 5 choices. Make a note of the area codes and exchange codes offered in the areas that you click on as you go back and forth looking at the number options presented. You can then identify which areas will give you both the area code and exchange codes that you prefer then you can concentrate on only two or three areas to narrow down your options for the last 4 digits of the phone number.

It may take a few sessions to get a number that will work for your specifications. Each morning there will be newly released numbers added to the number pool. So trying in the morning will give you more options especially if you are seeking an older more desired area code. Going farther afield may produce a desired area code that may still be considered a local phone number.

You may change your phone number up to 4 times per 30 days. Best of luck!

Sorry @cdavlut , you can not really get custom phone number in PM.

You can however change phone number 4 times a month.  When you logon o My Account, there is a change phone number option.    You will present with couple numbers to choose from.  If you don't like them , try again until you see a number you like.

Or if you meant you already have a number from another service provider, then you can just port the number in to PM
