I haven’t used my account in months and I’ve been getting charged every month, and I didn’t consent to pre-authorized payments. So how can I get the money refunded back to me?

If you didn't provide the info and authorize payments, how did they get access to your account?  Public is self serve, so you are responsible for much of what happens with opening or closing your account properly.

You'll need to contact a CS rep to get this resolved. We are just customers here trying to provide help.

Did you transfer your number out?

If so then that is totally on Public and you should get your money back.

Did you turn off autopay?

If so then you should get your money back.

If not then merely not using the services does not stop it. You might be thinking it's pay as you go. This place is prepaid. You renew another 30 days by paying for it. As mentioned, you in effect agreed to keep paying. After that then you could also have turned off autopay. If you did then your should get your money back.

@angelchild401   first, I am customer like you, we are just trying our best to help

Second, when you joined, on the payment step, it said clearly that the credit card will be enabled to pre-authorized payment and you click the check box to accept.  Check the fine print there about Pre-Authorized payments close to the end of the screenshot:

I never consented to pre authorized payments. You illegally took money from my account. I’d like it back. Asap

@angelchild401   Sorry, PM is prepaid provider and won't provide refund.  Also, like hydro or other services, you need to take care of it yourself to cancel it yourself   You cannot just go back and ask for refund simply because you didn't use it

To stop further payment, login to My Account and disable Pre-Authrorized payments from Payment page, click Manage payment method, you can disable it there:
