check your plan has Unlimited International Text and Picture Messaging.

some plan has grandfather non SMS then not received.

if your plan not has test messages then upgrade plan,

or  Download the TextNow App

it's give you a number for U.S or canadian and use it by Wi-Fi to make call & SMS for free.

You can receive from anyone anywhere as long as you are in Canada. And, as long as the sender can send texts to Canada.
