@mimmowrote:

@Luddite was reading on koodo forums that to transfer ownership(split off an account)  you need to pay 10 (possibly 25, not sure which is correct number. And you need two pieces of Id and a credit card.

I guess they just want to check the new owners credit.

Yes it looks relatively easy process

The transfer of ownership involves the receiving party undergoing the same credit check as the person who opened the line.  Transfer of ownership means exactly that.  The condition that the account is in at time of transfer becomes the responsibility of the new owner.  This includes things like tab balance if not cleared.

With respect to the question of referral rewards, there is about a will turnaround time to verify.  During that time, it's not advisable to do any number changes as that do invalidate the referral.  Once you get notification of referral being completed, number changes won't matter anymore.  The line still needs to remain active for 90 days to collect.

Makes sense. For now There is no idea of transfering ownership since I will be the owner of both lines anyway.

@zhadj030 Noone knows for sure, or has reported, what happens if you just continue using the Koodo assigned number and do not port out. You may be the first to know/report!

If it works, get another promo account and port-out a second line (or not). Robot LOL

BTW: seems Koodo will not let you transfer an account to someone new without a hassle. Because it's your credit rating that was used to open the account.

It does indeed seem interesting. It might be interesting to separate work number from personal number after all, it is weird that no one has been on this situatino at all .

@zhadj030 my understanding is you can port any time, or not at all.

If you plan on porting no use having both lines as you paid for one and are paying for the second.

Also not sure which referafriend you used but they have expiry dates. And to complete the process you need to enter a number so I would complete the port by before the refersl expires since the credit shows up 8-12 weeks later. No idea what happens if you change number before the funds are credited.  Hopefully someone knows more.

Yes my phone is dual SIM anyway so I will continue using PM service until it goes .

As for referafriend by using the temporary number I received an email confirmation that the credit have been earned hopefully number change wont affect that , nothing on the rules or the terms of use says anything about this.
