Public Mobile Text Notifications

Leswyn1

Since January 2023 I have not been receiving reminder texts from Public Mobile that my subscription is soon expiring. I have reported this issue more than once before and I was told that it would be addressed. The problem has not been resolved. I am considering reporting Public Mobile to the CRTC. The notifications were helpful so that I didn't wake up in the morning and find my subscription suspended.  I have not received any clear answers on why the reminder texts received 3-4 days before my subscription ends were stopped.

@softech It would seem I am one of a few that actually liked the text reminders

Thank you hTideGnow.  I apparently was one of the few people that liked the text reminders.  As I don't like using Autopay, I will set up my own calendar reminder.

Thank you hairbag1.  I prefer to not use Autopay so I will set up my own reminder and prepay a few days ahead as you mention.

Thank you esjliv.  Yes, based on the info provided, it would seem my only option is to set up my own calendar reminders.

HI@Leswyn1 , you can claim your name back 🙂  PM agent has been helping with these requests, yes a lot.  Just submit a ticket with agent and they can give you back  your old ID

Thank you dust2dust for the information.  It is more than what I have gotten from submitting tickets.  I will set my own reminder then.  The only text I still get from Public Mobile is "your plan did not renew..."

On another note:  finding Public Mobile very frustrating for a few reasons since they "upgraded" the system.  One example: like many others, I too was forced to sign up to the Community again with a different nickname.  The only option the system gave was to register again vs signing in with existing nickname & password.  When I tried to use my old nickname, they system said it was "already taken"....yes by me previously!!

@Leswyn1 - you can set a reminder every 30 days so you are in control of when these reminders arrive. I wouldn't depend on these texts, if I were you. Also, who said they would be back?

@softech OP WANTS the texts, not the other way around. 🙂

Set up a repeating every 30 days calendar item to remind yourself a couple days before the expiration. I agree it was a nice convenience but then we would hear from people here complaining about it and asking how to turn it off. So they turned it off altogether apparently. They've even turned off the thank you for your payment text. All I get are the stupid IVR texts and the consumption texts (minutes/text/data) and possibly the raf text.

@Leswyn1

I think they've ceased sending those reminders. Best is to have a credit card on file set to Autopay..then you're covered. Alternatively, manually load $$ into your account a few days before next renewal.

@Leswyn1 if it annoys you that much , you can click Mute notification to mute it, or you can even block it or reply STOP to stop it

Thanks @esjliv   I guess I hate it more and automatic think that way  🤣

HI @Leswyn1 I don't think CRTC will take this reminder thing as a case, so don't waste time

and the reminder, I think no more for months already, you still want them? Many people hates that.  Are you on Autopay?
