So, a positive story of sorts:
I actually managed to use up my 12GB this past period, so I'm no longer subsidizing you guys!
Lightning zapped my land line /ISP and was out for 1.5 weeks and I've got to say, it was nice to have tethered data available. I actually found that my tethered connection on PM was sometimes faster than my ISP! LTE is worth it.
Another thing I noticed is that even while being frugal with data usage, I still used it up; going for a larger mobile data plan is recommended, if you can afford it. The data add-ons, while expensive, is also nice to have in emergerncies. Luckily, I didn't need any additional data.

@MEU_21 - Nice to hear the LTE tethered connection on PM is sometimes faster than your ISP. 🙂

@MEU_21, great story. If I lose home internet for more than a few minutes during the evening, there would be riots. Tethering would probably be good for an hour or two maybe. Don't worry about the cost of bandwidth, it's nothing like what the carriers would have us think. It's always good policy to consume what we pay for. Just like food, we shouldn't let bandwidth go to waste.

Impressed that you only used that much data in a week and a half. Around my household we're burning through easily 150GB a week.
Luckily I am with Virgin and have unlimited data.
The speeds are similar, though depending where I am in the house, PM will be faster than Virgin.
