@Asima Make sure that the number you are porting is still active with the other company until the port is complete, you can't port an inactive number. And make sure that all the information (name, address, ect.) from the other account is exactly the same as the information you give to port the number.

Or also through the sign-up activation process. But the preferred approach is as above after you've signed up with a new number and when you're all satisfied that the service will work for you.

@Asima

I've moved your post to its own topic.  In future, for better visibility and thread clarity, its best to post your question to a fresh topic.

You can port your number from another provider by going to your PM self-serve account under "Plan & Add-ons" --> "Change phone number".  Choose "Transfer a wireless or wireline number from another provider".  Make sure the account at the old provider is still active.  Ports can take a few hours to complete, during which you'll be able to make phone calls using your PM number, but not receive them.  Note: If making any transfers from Koodo prepaid, you would require assistance from PM moderators, so in that case you would need to contact them by private message.

It depends... from which company do you want to port your number @Asima ?
