Porting Tips

I have been subscribed to PM for about a month on my iPhone 13, which was assigned a number when I initiated this service. I now about to PORT my older existing Rogers number to this phone, as I am walking away from Rogers and going down to 1 phone. Any tips for this process?

I have an iPhone with a PM sim, a PM subscription and the number they assigned to this plan. Now I want to port an older Rogers number from an android device to the iPhone subscribed to PM. Why would i have to remove sims?

I was unaware you had a second phone with the Rogers SIM card in it. You may have had an iPhone that had 2 SIM card slots. So, with that being said, as long as your Rogers account is active, then keep an eye on it when you port over the number. Say YES to the text within 90 minutes and you'll see SOS at the top of your Android phone. Then reboot your iPhone 13 and your number should have been ported over.

@Rick727272 just make sure the Rogers account still active.

go to My Account, Profile page and click Transfer phone number

And your Rogers account is a mobile one? You have to put the Rogers sim back to the phone as Rogers will send you a text to your Rogers sim cardand ask you to approve.  You need to reply that text with a Yes within 90 mins to approve the port

@Rick727272  Just use you old providers account number and ignore using the IMEI it’s not needed and often causes hiccups . And don’t forget to reply YES to the confirmation text to port number with in 90 mins of receiving the text . If you have any issues come back here and the community will further advise on what to do next .

Hello @Rick727272

This is the link you'll need to port over your Rogers number. Just know your Rogers number has to be active and the Rogers SIM card has to be in the phone for you to get the porting permission text. Then once you see SOS at the top, take the SIM card out and put in your PM SIM card. Restart your phone.

FYI - 25 Years with Rogers and left to come here. Welcome!!
