Poor coverage between Banff and Lake Louise

TR28

Coverage between Banff and Lake Louise on the Trans Canada is poor.  I know they share networks but I don't recall this problem when I was with Telus. When I have been with people on Rogers in the same vehicle, they have no problem. Are there plans to improve this?

@TR28 - Banff & Lake Louise are in the mountains and there is only like 2 towers (1 at the Banff - Windermere (93 South) highway interchange & one way at sunshine village where you may get 2-3 bars.

Here is a comparison between Rogers Network and Telus & Bell (Bellus) network

Rogers:

Telus & Bell:

Mountains are also hard to get service at but in this case it has to be that Banff National Park is protected land for use by animals mainly and to have cell tower growth less rapid.

I sometimes drived there and right past the park gates in the east end of Banff N.P. it was 1-2 bars.

But past Banff it was okay but not too good. Past lake Luise and the Icefields Parkway (93) it started getting rough and switching to 1 bar of 3G and 1 bar of LTE (There is no 5G in the area yet.)

You may want to report this to TELUS corporate to think about the cell coverage in that area. Just click on "Report an Issue" and select where you had issues with coverage. They will either change their coverage map or add towers in that location.

Also when you were on Rogers did you ever connect to an "EXT" symbol, that means you are roaming on TELUS / Bell's network. You will always see that symbol in Field, BC if you are on Rogers.

It could be that Rogers is 5G in that area but not TELUS / Bell.

@TR28  Telus and public mobile use the same network . Telus also has partnership with bell so PM Telus and Koodo and bell should all have same coverage. But rogers could be the unicorn here and have better coverage in those areas
