Hello,
I am looking into switching from my current provider to Public Mobile. I am looking at a 90-day clycle plan with Canada-Wide calling, Global Texting, and either 3+3GB or 6+6GB data plan.
My current "Cycle" data with my current provider is on the 8th of each month. I would like to switch next week to Public Mobile.
I have a question for a moderator.
1. Do you know if the current pricing will change between now (December 26, 2017) and Janurary 7, 2018? As I mentioned, I would like to sign up early next week - closer to my cycle date.
2. With 90-Day plans, does the renewal day of month "drift" each cycle (as not all months have 30-days)?
With my current provider, the day of the month is constaint. For example, I always know that my payment needs to be in before the 8th and I get "new" data and phone time on the 8th of each month. Also my Android phone tracks data uasage by fixed day of month each month.
Thank you,
Mike

@mike613 just so it's clear--because some have misunderstood the 90 day plans--the data amounts stated are for the full 90 days, not 30 or 1 month. So if you went with a 90 day plan that has 3+3 GB of data, that means you have 6GB to last you 90 days and NOT 6GB per month; if you go with the 6+6 plan, you have 12GB of data to last you the full 90 days.
As for tracking the data on this "unusual" plan length, as noted, there's @IWIK's Data Witness PM, provided free of charge for PM customers. More on Data Witness here. There is another 3rd party app some use, called My Data Manager. It gives you some more options, but at the expsense of privacy. Be sure to review their privacy policy if you want to try it, since they do ship your usage data to their servers for analysis. This may or may not bother you, but I personally use and recommend Data Witness instead.

Community member @IWIK is the developer of Data Witness. There is a paid version as well as the following free version for Public Mobile customers:

I am not a moderators but I am able to answer your questions:
1. Nobody knows whether there will be a pricing change for the current plans or if there will be new promotions between now and the new year. Even if the moderators knew, I don't think they will disclose it to the general public until it is actually effective.
2. Yes, the renewal date will "drift" as the plans are actually 30 or 90 days bases, not monthly based.
You will get a text from Public Mobile a few days earlier to remind you of payment due date and also another text when payment has been received and your plan has renewed.

No one will be able to tell you whether or not there will be a price change or promo until it goes live. You can always play the wait and see game or if you’re saving money switching now it might be worth making the jump. If a promo or price change comes up you can always future date a change to that plan for your next renewal date do you don’t miss out.
As for the cycle, I’ve been with PM for 10 months but I haven’t paid much attention to the exact renewal dates. They are 90 day plans and not 3 month plans, tho. They should renew every 90 days. No more, no less. Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
