Pixel 7 - 5G plan but only LTE+ showing?

I've reset everything (phone, network settings etc) but I still only see LTE+ and not 5G on my phone.  Yes my area has 5G towers according to the online maps and I do have a 5G plan up to 250mpbs.  Speedtests only show at most 80-100mbps which makes sense because that is what LTE+ is limited to?

Thank you.

I sometimes get as low as 800kbps on a speedtest which seems just way too slow regardless.

When I had a 4G plan it was consistent at 100mbps, never had issues.

Also, to add, my browsing is slow, pages load slow, youtube loads slow, facebook loads slow etc so I'm not just concerned about the speedtest but using it to confirm how slow my speeds actually are.

@CRS , if you have your phone preferred network type selected to 5G preferred but the connection is staying on LTE+, this has to do with your location relative to local cell towers.  When I am at home, my phone connects to LTE, outside of the home the connection goes to LTE+, a few houses down the street it goes to 5G.  I am using a pixel 7.  As for speed test results, it is variable depending on a whole host of local network conditions.  I would not worry about the speed cap on your account being different than advertised.  If you don't notice real life performance issues, don't worry about data speed, it is fast enough.

On a 5G plan you aren't limited to 100 Mbps on LTE.

Edited to add, there are a couple of mentions on forums of the Pixel 7 not getting 5G on Koodo, one person resolved it by putting their sim in a phone that got 5G and then putting it back in theirs, and another had customer service fix it.  If you want to try the latter send a private message using this link

hi @CRS

it's more speed matters.  LTE+ will get you good speed too

perform a speed thest and see if you get close to 200Mbps

If you like, you can also try Reset All Networks on the phone and check if it connects to 5G.  And test the 5G connection in different places
