I’m upgrading to an Iphone 16e. I have a physical sim card and can only use an Esim, how do I do this?

The Canadian iPhone 16e will have a SIM and dual eSIM but you can only have a total of 2 at one time…(SIM & eSIM or 2 eSIMs).
The American iPhone 16e will have 8 eSIM storage but you can only have a total of 2 activated eSIMs.
I personally prefer the SIM for portability where you can just pop out the SIM and put it into another phone. With eSIM, you need to purchase eSIM on each phones and are not transferable.
I use eSIM when I am abroad and purchase a local eSIM. Easily delete when I am done and no worries of losing my PM SIM.

@Nbhiker2023 The Canadian iPhone 16e should still have a sim slot, so you just need to take it out of the old phone and put it in the new one. If your iPhone 16e is the American version then that is esim only.

To change to eSIM, you would download the Public Mobile App to your new phone. Go to Account and purchase the eSIM. When that's successful, you can then update the new number under the Profile tab.
