To my great surprise, my phone number has changed - I have had this number for a long time and am not sure why PB has changed my number.
Please advise.

Did you recently move to Public Mobile, and if so, did you reply YES to the port authorization request within 90 minutes of getting that text, while having your prior provider SIM card in your device?
That is the most likely cause of PM assigning you a temporary number until the porting process can be completed appropriately.
You can reinitiate the port yourself by signing into your self-serve and going under your profile to change your number. Select the option to port number from another provider. You'll need to be sure the prior provider services are active and that you use their SIM number in your device to reply to that text.

@Happiness-2025 How long have you been with PM? Sometimes if a port in from another provider failed (even a month later) the phone will be given another number automatically.

It shouldn’t have change unless someone requested it.
I would contact a CS_Agent right away to investigate.
