Phone Porting - Not available Network

emmanuels7

Hi.

I'm trying to make port to Fongo. However I can not receive the confirmation message due not available Network in my current Location.

All my PM fees are paid.

What options do I have other than waiting for the confirmation SMS?

Regards

Hi There.

@smp99pprovided the right solution. PM support people was extremely efficient and knowledgeable. They coordinated with the external provider for porting out.  They went over some ID confirmation questions and scheduled for manually porting out with fongo.

Thanks for your help people and PM support!.

I am quite certain that if you contact a Customer Service Agent, they will be able to approve the port-out when the request comes in.

You can do what you can do remotely. Your friend needs to do what needs to be done in Canada.

They buy the sim, they tell you the number, you log in to your account and change the sim on the account, you call the Telus porting help line (if you can call a Canadian toll free number from where you are - or your friend calls them) and re-trigger the port or if you didn't actually do the number port earlier then you can do that in the account, then your friend puts the new sim into an unlocked compatible phone and confirms the port text.

Then some time later (maybe a few days to a voip line) the account closes, the sim is dead and you have the number wherever you put it.

There may be some complications with the new sim in a different phone but you can cross that bridge if it arises.

Hi dust2dust. Thanks for your answer.

Do you mean a public mobile SIM ? A new public mobile SIM to transfer in my current number ? Does that require ID authentication and being actually present at the country right?. Not sure if that is feasible.

I'm not coming back soon but I need to preserve the current number. I bother with Fongo as they provide a routing for my current number. I will get service where I am but I need to have this number available.

Regards,

Have a trusted friend or family member buy a sim and then you change it in the account and then they can put it in a phone and then you can trigger the port and then they can confirm the text.

Are you coming back? Did you sign up before late January? How long are you thinking you'd be away? Why bother with Fongo? Just get local service wherever you are. If you do then maybe somebody here would take over your account if it's on the old rewards system.

Waiting for a better signal will require moving back to Canada or US just to finish the port out process.

I moving out the country and I am in the current location right now. I will be travelling COlombia and PM does not have roaming service in that location. I really need to confirm the Port out.

This is your best option, either that or wait until your current location has a better signal.

As long as both account are active, porting should work.

If you have no PM service at your current location, maybe you should go somewhere else with strong signal and try again?

Why are you switching to Fongo and how much it will cost you?
