Phone Number Transfer Help

Hi there!

I recently tried to swap from Chatr to Public Mobile. I however made the mistake of first cancelling my chatr service before doing the number transfer, and as such when I tried to do the transfer it got kind of messy. I did recieve a text from chatr asking me to approve the number transfer, which I did, but on public's end it somehow didnt stick.

After that I was given a random number from PM, but when I tried the transfer again it didnt work. When I tried to send/recieve sms messages with the number PM gave me it didnt work either. After a week or so of trying to figure this out, I bought a new PM esim, installed it and tried again to transfer my old number from both chatr and PM. This didnt work either, and I was given a second new number. 

I just gave up at this point for a couple weeks, and when I came back and tried to do the transfer, it worked, and my PM account's phone number is currently showing the number I am trying to restore. However, in my apple settings, the number assosciated with my PM esim is still shown as the second new one. Right now, I cannot receive or send sms messages or calls. Whenever I try to change the number associated with the sim in the cellular settings it doesnt let me save the number. 

I have filled out a ticket with support but im just posting this here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience, and to see what worked for them. Any advice is appreciated!

I am currently going through the same thing. I tried to port my number over from Koodo to PM through an agent and it’s been almost 2 days. I’m using a temp number but I need my old phone # because I use it for my business.

Yes, I did the chatr transfer text as well

If you are porting the number from Chart, you still need to have an active account with Chatr and able receive text from Chatr on the Chatr sim and reply Yes to approve the port

It sounds to me you just requested but didn't complete the part with Chatr (that's why your PM sim is showing the number you want to port but cannot receive calls, that is a stuck port)

Please confirm if you complete the text part with Chatr
