Hi all,
I am a new subscriber trying to active a new SIM card in my Samsung Advance (old phone) I went through the process of activating the SIM card and setting up autopay. I then received 2 different text messages with 2 different PINs. I then shut down my phone and swapped the SIM cards. When I restarted the phone, I was asked for a SIM password, I entered the PIN that I had created but it was not accepted. I then called my previous provider (Telus). The representative provided me a phone unlock code based on my IMEI number but I was still unable to get past the code request. Now as soon as I turn on the phone, I get the message "Phone Freeze SIM unavailable. Please contact the service provider.". I remove the SIM card and the phone boots normally and if I put the card in my wife's phone (same model) Her phone then gets the same message.
I would really appreciate some guidance on what to do to resolve this. I send a message to the moderator but have not yet received a response.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually did both of those as well. I do believe the SIM card is locked. I put it in my wifes functional phone and immediately get that message when it is restarted.
I've only heard of PUK code for SIM's before so I'm not sure what this message you're getting is. But you're in the queue for the mods. I'm sure others way more expert than I might have some better ideas.

Are you trying to port over your old/existing phone number too?

While waiting for the mods, try 0000 or 1234. Just a hunch. But eventually you'll get locked out if you keep trying things.
