Hi there

I have a Redmi 12C Phone that is unlocked

Please, is it compatible with Pubic Mobile Network?

My LTE Bands are 1,2,3,5,7,8, and the rest are FDD and TDD bands

@Ziid14

If you are unable to "turn on" VoLTE for your phone on the PM network, then you will have issues with talk on the PM network.

Here is some information from another thread:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/No-incoming-outgoing-calls-existing-custo...

It seems like some customers were able to turn on VoLTE on the PM network as above for Xiaami phones.  Don't know of any other "cheat" codes to turn on for other android manufactures.

The interesting thing is that it is not the carrier's decision to include phones on the PM network.  It is the manufacturer.  Since VoLTE was introduced in 2022 to Public mobile, many of the mobile phone companies did not retroactively turn on VoLTE on the PM network.  The same phone with VoLTE may work with VoLTE on Telus or Koodo, but not work on Public mobile even though using Telus network.

can you send a link for it because I did and did not see anything

@Ziid14   A particular phone can be VoLTE capable but if VoLTE is not enabled by the carrier it will still not work.  I had exactly that issue with an Android phone on another non-Telus carrier.  You could search these forums for the tweak and try it but I don't think anyone can guarantee that it will work.  Are you a prospective customer?   One way might be to sign up for the cheapest plan and try it for a 30 day cycle.  If you don't want to continue with Public Mobile then just toggle "subscribed" to "unsubscribed" in your account and it will close due to non-payment.   As it is, Telus has not announced a date for the 3G shutdown and it may be some time away yet.

@Phil_Adelphus, thanks for your reply, but the thing is that my phone has VoLTE both on SIM and Phone, so what it still work on their network when tweaked?

@Ziid14   There are no Redmi phones listed as approved for VoLTE on Public Mobile.  It could still work until whenever 3G is finally shut down (so far only Rogers/Fido/Chatr have a date for that, July this year).   It may be possible to tweak the settings to enable VoLTE but it is likely not enabled by default on Public Mobile for that phone.  Without VoLTE it would not work for roaming in the USA if that's a factor.
