Is a Samsung A70 compatible with Public Mobile? It does not appear to be one of the models in their drop down options when checking.

I'm seeing Telus/SaskTel/Bell also use a lot more LTE 2600Mhz/band 7 in the last few years...

Yes it will work. The compatibility checker is not always up do that with all the new phones. As they have to be manually added to the list.
As long as the phone has Public Mobile frequency and is unlocked it will work.
Public Mobile utilizes the following frequency bands:
4G LTE and LTE Advanced:
700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS)
HSPA:
850 MHz and 1900 MHz (UMTS)
