Payment by voucher

So I switched to public mobile during their $10 free sim card and 2nd month free promotion.  I'm coming up on my second month and Public mobile has already deposited the funds into my account.  Here's my question:  I have a voucher for the third month that I would like to enter the pin numbers in my self serve account but am wondering if I should wait until they take out the second month payment first.

@stonechucker

Busted!

(Seriously though, spending more time in front of the screen while transitioning back to full on entrepreneurship... these are my mini breaks.)

@kelly0032003, Are the credits for your second month already showing in your self-serve account?  If they are, IImagine they are showing as part, of not all of your available balance, as there really isn’t, to my knowledge, any other place they would be.

Alvailable balance, is essentially treated as cash.  Rewards, are credits not yet moved to the available balance.

Currently, I’m expecting $20 in rewards to be converted to active balance on my upcoming renewal.  At this time there is $25 of available credit in my favour.  I should have a leftover balance after renewal of $5 plus any other rewards I haven’t received yet.

Load your voucher if you haven’t already.  You will not loose the value of the 2nd month free credit, nor the voucher(s).

I'm not sure why you would wait the extra funds will just sit in your account until they are needed. Rewards are always taken off first if that's what you're worried about.

No I know that rewards are taken first.  My fear is that if I apply the voucher now, it would be immediately used as payment instead of waiting until the payment date and then the my second months  credit would also come out on the payment date.  So in the span of one week I would pay for two months when I should only pay for one.

Asssuming that your "free month" credit is in available funds you'd be just adding to that with your voucher value. Then on renewal the plan cost minus rewards is taken off (once) and whatever is left is carried over as available funds to the next month.

Since the voucher is non-refundable anyway might as well "deposit" it into your account instead of keeping track of it for months at the time. (Unless, of course, you have intentions of porting out soon and think you might be able to sell the voucher.)

(I personally often have a couple of bucks in available funds since community rewards are unpredictable and voucher values don't exactly match what I need.)

Yeah I don't know. It's a wierd thing. I bought one earlier on and then it was more than I needed so I held on to it. But now with recharge.com, I cashed it in and will only need to do a little more with the online service and then I'll continue on with that.
