I own a Moto z xt-1650 and I was given this phone from a family member last month. Almost a month ago I purchased a Public Mobile Sim and when I insert it, it immediately asks me for a PUK code please help or I will be forced to leave and go with different cellular company..

@leblancsteven19 If you put this new PM sim into another phone , did it ask you the same thing?   If so, this could be asking for SIM card PUK.

You can ask PM support for SIM PUK to unlock it.  Please use this direct link to create sim puk request:

However, if it works on another phone, then it is not the SIM card PUK it was asking.  If it only happen when the new SIM is put into the Moto phone, then it would be asking for a carrier unlock code

@leblancsteven19 hi it sounds like your phone is locked to the last provider that the phone was used with ,  you must contact them to unlock it for you , ask  the family member who that cell. provider was

You can also try the default PUK...1234 and see if that works. If not, only a CS_Agent can help you.

A PUK could never be 1234 and there's no such thing as a default.  A PUK for a SIM card is unique to each SIM card and cannot be changed.  A SIM card's default PIN for Public Mobiel is 1234, but that isn't what's being asked for here.

@leblancsteven19

Please don't try to use 1234. This can't possibly work and is actually potentially harmful. Depending on how many times you've tried to guess the code, you could permanently destroy your SIM card by doing this.

If your phone is asking for something something named different than mentioned above and the phone is asking for a "SIM Network Unlock PUK", this means that your phone is locked to another carrier. If that's the case, you'll need to contact the carrier that the phone is locked to get that code.  You would also need to get the "SIM Network Unlock PIN" to unlock the device so that you can use it at Public Mobile.

A PUK code can be obtained by a CS_Agent. They can be contacted by type in Create a Ticket on SIMon Chatbot or by private messaging on this Community.

They will be available from 6:00am to 11:00pm EST so keep your eyes on the envelope icon above for their reply back to you.
