PIN not accepted at the time of activation.

So I successfully activated my SIM card, but got this red error message at the top of the summary page: - Sorry, your 4-digit PIN was not accepted. Please visit our online Community at publicmobile.ca/community for assistance.

As you'll see in the screenshot below:

How do I enter a new PIN or whatnot? That said, the SIM card does work as I can receive texts and all. And I can login to my account just fine as well.

@noonehere I have not seen this error yet. I wonder if you may have accidently put two different numbers in when they requested your PIN but then it didnt flag it until the end. 

 

Moderators can help you out as has been already stated.

@noonehere  The PIN number is used for security account verification purposes, number porting and purchasing add-ons by dialing 611. You need to submit a ticket to PM and setup a new one.

 

To submit a ticket to the Moderator Team, please start a conversation with the Public's virtual assistant, SIMon by clicking  here or the icon (bottom right of your screen).

If you are still having problems contacting Public Mobile then click here. The link  sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.

Please note that account verification may be required when contacting the Moderator Team

Did you receive the sms with your pin? Is it different from what you chose?

That is your pin if you want to change it you will have to contact moderators give them current pin and ask them to change it to what you want.

@noonehere to get a new pin you have to contact the moderators and explain what happened.  Give them the pin that you would like associated with your account. Before you do, call 611 from your phone and try logging in with the declined 4 digit pin code. There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Faster response- Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Slower- Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.

Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen.  The mods answer will show up there.  Stay safe.
