Hello and I live in Abbotsford, BC, and my brother wishes to sign up for p/m, but for some reason he thinks that because he lives in a small town called, Hope, BC (about 100 kil away from Abbotsford), he can't get service there.  I checked the availability and it seems that he should.  Can anyone please clarify?  thanks

Lol. I just found out what “Beyond Hope” means a few months ago.

Public Mobile works fine for me in all those areas.

My work frequently took me to and “Beyond Hope” as well. All the way to (Lack of) Sunshine Valley a couple of times. Installing and repairing Payphones then.

And indeed, 604-206 numbers show up as options when I check in Self-Serve.. So new or porting in numbers from other carriers in Hope is possible:

If he picks a Hope number for 778 it will be 778 359 xxxx

But he might want to choose a lower mainland number. That would be based on how many inbound calls he has vs outbound. Would friends and family have to call him LD? Keep in mind his out bound calls are Canada Wide.

yes, will keep all of this in mind .. thanks again

Yes as mentioned, if Telus phones work so will PM. I am not 100% that Hope cell phone numbers are available or exist... could be people in Hope get Chilliwack numbers? But service will be like Telus coverage. Find your referral code on your Self Serve account for him so he gets a $10 bonus and you get $1 every 30 days towards your renewals.

@JoyLuck : In this case, the coverage maps are more useful as not far out of town to the east on Hwy 3 is dead. So it depends on where exactly the brother lives and where he generally runs around. There are some weak and dead spots to the north on Hwy 1 and a bit on Hwy 5. Hope opens up to the broader large flat "Lower Mainland" of the south coast. From Hope to UBC. (purists on the "Island" would say _they're_ the south coast 🙂 )

While there is definitely service in Hope, BC, that doesn't necessarily mean that the network is perfect there. All networks have weak spots, especially if you are deep into a large building or underground. With that said, your borther should be fine.

great and thanks .. I will pass that on.

Absolutely. In and around would be fine. A little further could be weak depending on which way. If he knows anything about Telus or Koodo or Bell or Virgin or Lucky then he would know what Public Mobile can do as Public Mobile belongs to Telus.
