As backup, you can use WhatsApp or TextNow app for free talking and texting through WiFi.

Otherwise, you will need to purchase a local SIM/eSIM.

Pm only offers roaming in the US but fortunately Spain has extremely affordable mobile plan rates. You can download textnow, choose a Canadian phone number and forward your pm phone number to it to recieve your incoming pm calls on your textnow app. Leave your pm Sim card with a trusted friend or family member in case your call forwarding defaults back to voicemail and they can put your Sim card in their phone to call forward your pm phone # again. ( This can all be done using the $15 plan or suspend your services altogether just remember to reactivate before day 88/89 so that you dont lose your account and phone #.)

Like @Handy1 mentioned, Public Mobile roaming only extends to the United States. The only other option is to purchase a local SIM card while you're there if you need to make calls and have data. Another option if you want to keep in contact with friends and family back in Canada is to download either Fongo or TextNow. You can pick a local number in your area. You can make and receive calls and text messages via WiFi only. Not sure how the local WiFi is there as I've never been. Sadly it's the only option at this time.

@Lindsaykelly  No sorry PM won’t work in Spain just Canada and the US with US roaming . You best to get a local pre paid SIM card in Spain for your trip
