I think Public Mobile should have the carrier name as "Public" instead of "Public Mobile" like what Lucky Mobile has done (putting "Lucky" instead of "Lucky Mobile" in the status bar), and so that it is also not "Public M..." on iOS devices.
Who else agrees?

On my Android you can turn the name completly OFF
What I think is the name is too long and takes too much space

@ibrahim0109 whenever someone brings this up, I like to remind them that the best way to solve this problem is to switch to Android*.
* that said, there is one or two OEMS that insist on showing the carrier name in the status bar like iOS, instead of only when you pull down the quick toggle/notifiction shade; however, most Android implementations do this correctly 🙂

Mobile should be included to be completely transparent.

@Anonymous True. I just wanted to see what other people thought of this idea.

And I had found apps that can allegedly do it without jailbreaking.
I get your principle though of course. It's just that there are workarounds. Also more important things to fix like bullet proof payments or at least idiot-proofing it.

Then 👎
@ibrahim0109 wrote:@gblackma My point was not change the company name, but only the name in the status bar. Even on PM's website home page, the logo only says "Public" now instead of "Public Mobile."

I'm not an Apple guy but for curiosity I googled "iphone carrier name" and found several options to change the name in or out of jailbreak.

@ibrahim0109 the mobile clearly implies that they are a telecommunication company. What does Lucky by itself imply to you? Loan shark? Bar? Casino? Strip joint? Mobster? 🤔

Hi, I have "Public Mobile" in the status bar of my phone.
