I am thinking of getting a OnePlus 12 China version during my upcoming trip to China (because it will be cheaper). But my concern is the compatibility issues of the bands, because my current China version of POCO F5 (also known as Redmi Note 12 Turbo) is indeed having some issues...
According to kimovil, it will have n66 and n78 for 5G; and b4, b5 and b7 for 4G; and b5 for 3G

I would avoid. I checked the spec. The OnePlus 12 China version missed 1 of the 2 3G bands. If you cannot use VoLTE here , you will have lots of calls dropped
and even 4G data, it has only half the network bands, so your data connection will be on and off too
5G band is ok, it has n66

Yeah I understand that... Just doing calculations to see if it's worth losing some bands to get a cheaper price

Only Huawei devices run Harmony, and OnePlus is not part of Huawei
In terms of OS, China versions run ColorOS and international versions run OxygenOS. Both Android-based.

hi @Rastin not all Chinese phones run on Harmony, I think only some Huewai's
OnePlus only has Android

What os does it run on Android or Harmony? If harmony you will probably have problems since I don't think that pms app will work on it.

hi @jvhs0706 it's not just the OS , but the actual network band, which is hardware

Hello @jvhs0706
Please see this link...
Certified VoLTE devices compatible with Public Mobile
There you will see a list of phones that work on Public Mobile. There will be other phones that work on PM that will say it's on 4G but when making calls, it drops down to 3G. The worst part, it may work in Canada but if you head to the US, if it only works on 3G here in Canada, that phone won't work in the US.
Until Public Mobile updates their very outdated list of White listed phones, I wouldn't waste your money and stick with what's on the list.

They don't sell the international version in China, but the China version will be way cheaper 😂
I know how to flash the ROM to get the international version of the OS, then the only difference will be the missing bands... Then my concern is how much difference will those missing bands cause...

hi @jvhs0706
it might have an international version, get that instead of the Chinese version
The Chinese version might not have all the network bands. The Chinese version could still connect but it might have drop calls or data not as stable as it does not have all the network bands we need on PM. Generally a Chinese variant would not work as well as the International variant in Canada
