hi @Mitjoh

just in case your old carrier is Koodo and you have Koodo Prepaid, you will have to port your line using a different way.  You need to submit a ticket with PM support agent and ask them to do a manual port for you

submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:
            https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
Type the question "Submit ticket", Then click the following in order: "Contact Us" ,  "Other",  "Log In".
If any issue with ticket submission, you can submit  ticket by direct message:

Remember CS_agent will reply to your Community inbox within 2 to 4 hours, please check your inbox here:

@Mitjoh , number transfer is a self serve function.  Simply go into your online account either via browser (use incognito mode is recommended) or mobile app (delete app data prior) and go to the profile tab and there you will have the option to change your number.  Select the number transfer option and follow the steps.  It is recommended account number be used for identification over IMEI.  Good luck.

First, make sure the new account with the temporary number is fully functioning before arranging for port

And the account with the number you want to port must still be active with the other provider

Next, login My Account or the Public Mobile App, go to Profile or Account page , click Transfer phone number and complete the steps

https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/transfer-phone-numberhttps://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/transfer-phone-number

after you submitted the port request, put the old sim card with the other carrier back to the phone.  Your old carrier will send you a porting authorization text and you need to reply YES  within 90 mins

after you replied, you can wait an hours before putting back your PM sim card and try calling yourself with the phone number you want to port in, your PM sim should ring and that confirm the port is completed
