You might have to re-register your number with your bank.  Some banks and companies require you to specify your provider when registering your number.  This was the case after I ported from Fido to PM.  I had to delete my number at Vancity then re-register, specifying Telus (PM was not listed) as my provider.  Only then did I start receiving texts again.

some carriers and systems can take couple days or even a week to able to "recognize" the number got changed to the new carrier.  It is a system sync issue.  During this time, those slower systems are still trying to send txt and call to your old carrier.

Some banks will block sending OTP texts to mobile numbers that have recently been ported to a new carrier as a fraud protection measure, even if calls and regular text messages are working OK after a port. (In case of an unauthorized port) Banks monitor for changes in the "OCN" (operating carrier number) associated with a number.

After some amount of time it should start working again. Hopefully no more than a couple more days...

Hello @fedbinshajuch17 ,

I see an OTP code here, but it is an older thread:

What is the number you are expecting it from ?

I have done all the procedures 3 days before. Now I have issue with only the bank OTP.

Did you just port?

It takes a few hours to complete.

Porting Your Number Into Public Mobile

If you are porting your number into Public Mobile, for additional security, your previous service provider may also send an SMS text to validate the transfer. Follow the instructions in the message within 90 minutes to approve the number transfer. If you have missed the 90 minute window to respond, we will send you an SMS with instructions on how to re-initiate the transfer by calling our Porting team. The SMS will read as follows:Public Mobile Msg: The request to move your phone number to Public Mobile has timed out. Don't worry, you can easily re-initiate the transfer. Please call our Porting Team at 1*** to authorize your number transfer

Tips:

  • Keep the old account's device on with the SIM card inside to receive the validation message. If that’s not possible, please ensure you can access the SIM from a different device.
  • Be sure to check all texts that could go to any other members on the old account and any junk or spam folders.
