Not getting any verification code via SMS

Hi,

I have had this number for 2 years or so now. Everything is working fine. I am able to communicate via SMS with contacts. But for some reason in the past week or so, I stopped receiving verification codes by SMS. When I type in my phone number and click send nothing comes through. I haven't changed any settings on my phone either. This has happened with a few different websites now, indeed, linkedin, etc. So I know its not an issue with a particular site.

I did run this test from this site here: https://www.siteuptime.com/test_sms.php
and this is working fine for me. Not sure whatelse it can be. I have restarted my phone.

Next thing to try would be to remove and insert the sim card again or reset sim settings. I have a S23 Ultra btw.

I suggest testing in safe mode to rule out the third party app being the problem.

If the issue began after your last renewal it could be a provisioning issue. Try putting your Sim card in your wife's phone and sending a text. This could reprovision your Sim card without the need to contact support. Making a manual payment may also trigger reprovisioning.

I actually just tested on my wife's number (she has an iphone), shes also with public mobile and she's getting the same SMS successfully. So its definitely something with my phone and/or sim. I also went to settings > reset and reset my mobile network settings but didn't make a difference. Next, going to physically remove the sim card and try that.

Ya I actually downloaded Textra (another third party message app) and have that setup as my default message app. but no luck with that either. and Yes just not receiving 2FA text.

HI @global8936  you can receive regular sms no problem and just not receiving 2FA text?

It you receive some 2FA and most regular text and just not receiving selected one, usually it is a problem with the sites, you should check with them first

but you can also try to clear cache on the text app you are using .

With S23, it should have 2 text app installed, the Samsung stock one and the Google Message, I suggest you to use Google message and not Samsung own Message app.  So, if you are using Samsung, maybe time to try Google.  But if already using google message, as said above, try to clear cache
