Signed up yesterday
able to get calls and send iMessages but can’t make calls or send text messages. Unsure what to do. I signed up last night and want to cancel

Don't use apple stuff for messaging. Use NATIVE OS app for SMS until ALL services start working as expected.
Then switch to 3rd part app if you so desire.
Confirm your account is active; reboot phone (turn off, wait a bit, turn on). Confirm network settings are as per PM recommendation.

Go to settings, general, about and see if anything wants to update.

@Babybiff Have you rebooted the phone or reset network settings . You can port number out or turn of auto subscribe to cancel or get support to remove the credit card on file
