transfer transferred number from Freedom Mobile network to Public Mobile network. Still no service from Public Mobile

if you are sending iMessage or RCS, then you need Mobile data or Wi-Fi on
if you are sending MMS, you need Mobile data in (turning only Wi-Fi on won't work)
if you are sending SMS, then it will work without data or Wi-Fi

Removed old physical SIM card and worked. Do I need data turned on to sent text messages? I can’t seem to send them without it turned on

did you activate with physical sim card or eSIM?
first, make sure you removed your old carrier's physical sim card, or if the old one is an eSIM, disable it
then make sure PM sim is enabled (or Turn on this line is toggled on). Reboot phone and Reset Network Settings
If same, then ask PM support agent to help to confirm if the account or sim was setup properly on the system, you can submit ticket by direct message:
